As part of ALDOT’s efforts to improve infrastructure and traffic flow in downtown Birmingham, the I-20/59 CBD Bridges (ALDOT Project ACIMF-I059(385)) began in 2017. This project involved the removal and reconstruction of the elevated interstate bridges through the city’s core. Schoel’s Construction Surveying Department played a key role by providing construction staking and layout services for bridge footers, piers, deck elevations, roadway realignments, etc., ensuring adherence to design specifications. Our department’s expertise ensured the project was completed efficiently and to specification, enhancing Birmingham’s roadway system for years to come.
