Project Description

Schoel completed the Lindsay Lane Sewer Study as a master planning effort focused on current and projected future land development uses of a sub-basin with the Athens Utilities (AU) service area. This study developed three potential sewer service options with initial capital and long-term life cycle costs for AU’s review and planning purposes. Tasks included gathering existing topographic data to study the basin for optimal gravity sewer service and minimizing pump station needs as well as reviewing land parcel ownership information to propose optimum locations for key service features and project easement acquisitions required for each option. As a result of this project, Schoel has recently begun the design of a 1.25 mile gravity trunk sewer main extension project located on the east side of I-65 to serve the needs of this basin.
